Sammy Hagar

Sammy Hagar, an inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Van Halen in 2007, has been a significant contributor to the music industry. Hagar's journey began in a San Francisco cover band and led to his recruitment into Montrose, where he penned the song "Bad Motor Scooter" and contributed to the band's debut and sophomore albums. After parting ways with Montrose, Hagar embarked on a successful solo career, with his 1984 hit "I Can't Drive 55" becoming a signature representation of his work. Beyond his solo career, Hagar has also been part of various music groups, such as Sammy Hagar & the Waboritas since 1996 and, most recently, Sammy Hagar and the Circle since 2014.

Apart from his musical pursuits, Hagar is also known for his entrepreneurial ventures. He has founded four spirits brands and 13 restaurants, including the Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. In 2026, he launched a new line of nutritional supplements called Red Rocker Essentials, developed in partnership with Nature’s Lab. His philanthropic ventures include the co-founding of the Hagar Family Foundation in 2008, a non-profit organization focused on children's causes and hunger relief.

In the realm of media and entertainment, Hagar has made guest appearances in several television series, including CBS's "Nash Bridges," The Biography Channel's "Celebrity Ghost Stories," and "The Voice." He has also authored an autobiography, "Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock," which reached No. 1 on the New York Times Best Seller list, and a cookbook, "Are We Having Any Fun Yet? – The Cooking & Partying Handbook." Furthermore, Hagar has hosted a weekly radio show, "Sammy Hagar's Top Rock Countdown," since 2015 and launched a television program on AXS TV, "Rock & Roll Road Trip with Sammy Hagar," in 2016.
