Samara Cyn is a rapper, singer, and songwriter recognized for her genre-blending approach in contemporary music. Based in Los Angeles, Cyn navigates hip-hop, R&B, and pop, delivering introspective lyrics over atmospheric beats. She describes herself as a neo-soul hip-hop fusion artist, drawing influence from Lauryn Hill and Erykah Badu, while her music also reflects the soulfulness of Doechii and the experimental style of Tyler, The Creator.

Cyn’s songwriting process emphasizes craftsmanship, beginning with handwritten lyrics and a detailed editing phase to achieve clarity and creativity in rhyme and cadence. Her musical journey began when she wrote her first song, transforming a therapeutic outlet into a dedicated career. While attending Arizona State University, she performed at speakeasies and open mics in Phoenix, Arizona, further developing her stage presence and artistry.

Cyn co-directs her music videos, integrating visual art influences from painters such as René Magritte and Frida Kahlo, and incorporating symbolism and surrealism into her visuals. Her debut EP, "The Drive Home," marked a significant milestone, exploring themes of self-identity and personal growth. The project garnered attention from industry icons, including co-signs from Erykah Badu and Lauryn Hill. Cyn has opened for Isaiah Rashad on the "Cilvia Demo" 10 Year Anniversary Tour and for Nas on the "Illmatic" 30-year anniversary tour in London. She has also received recognition from artists such as Doechii, Doja Cat, Rapsody, and Alicia Keys, and was highlighted by Denzel Washington on national television.

At South by Southwest, Cyn won the Grulke Prize for Developing U.S. Act and performed with Lauryn Hill at the Jazz in the Gardens Festival in Miami. Her second EP, "Backroads," received critical acclaim, ranking among the top EPs and rap albums by Spin, Hypebeast, and Billboard. That same period, Cyn was selected for the XXL Freshman Class, made her late-night television debut on "The Daily Show" performing her song "Hardheaded," and was named the BET Amplified Artist of the Month.

Cyn’s EP "Detour" introduced a new artistic direction, with the lead single "oooshxt" exploring themes of freedom and digital detachment. The seven-track project underscores the importance of autonomy and humanity in the digital age. In addition to her music career, Cyn has been featured in campaigns with brands such as Nike, Kia, Ganni, and Tommy Hilfiger, reflecting her influence in both the music and fashion industries.
