Sally Miller

Dr. Sally K. Miller, PhD, FAANP, is a clinical professor and advanced practice nurse with nearly 30 years of experience in clinical care, academic leadership, and nursing scholarship. Miller is a nurse practitioner with four board certifications: adult-gerontology acute care, adult-gerontology primary care, family nurse practitioner, and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, all granted by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Her expertise spans adult and geriatric care, primary care, family health, and psychiatric mental health.

Miller has taught nurse practitioner students since 1995 and developed one of the first acute care nurse practitioner programs in the United States at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia. She serves as a clinical professor at Drexel University College of Nursing and Health Professions, teaching advanced pathophysiology and advanced pharmacology. Her teaching portfolio includes courses such as Health Assessment, Pharmacology for Practicing Nurses, Psychopharmacology Across the Lifespan, Professional Issues for Nurse Practitioners, and Primary Care for Women's Health.

Miller maintains an active clinical practice in rural health with NextGen Family Care Clinic and iCarePsychiatry in Las Vegas, Nevada. She also serves as the APRN consultant to the Nevada State Board of Nursing. Her ongoing clinical work informs her teaching and supports her role in preparing graduate nursing students for advanced practice roles.

Miller is a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and a member of professional organizations including the American Nurses Association, Academy of Correctional Health Professionals, and Nevada Nurses Association. She is a frequent presenter at national nurse practitioner conferences and has published more than 30 articles in peer-reviewed journals on clinical and research topics. Her work has appeared in Journal of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Biological Research for Nursing, Journal of Geriatric Physical Therapy, Journal of Primary Health Care, and Journal of Correctional Health Care.

As a faculty member with Fitzgerald Health Education Associates, Miller presents the Fitzgerald Nurse Practitioner Certification Exam Review & Advanced Practice Update for family, adult-gerontology primary care, adult-gerontology acute care, and psychiatric-mental health practitioners.
