Sachin Kansal

Sachin Kansal is the chief product officer at Uber, overseeing the company's Mobility and Delivery products, including product management, design, and product operations. Kansal also leads product and technology strategy for initiatives such as autonomous vehicles, sustainability, taxis, and Uber for Teens. These product lines collectively power 33 million daily trips worldwide.

Kansal's career spans more than two decades in technology and product management. He began at Palm, where he served as director of product management, focusing on the mobile operating system webOS and mobile applications. He later became vice president of product at Lookout, a mobile security company, managing the consumer product line and scaling the business to over 120 million users. Prior to joining Uber, Kansal was chief product officer at Flywheel Software, a provider of on-demand transportation through taxicabs. He holds a bachelor of engineering degree from Gujarat University and a master's in management sciences and engineering from Stanford University. Kansal has authored several patents in mobile communication, location technologies, and media.

Kansal joined Uber as the company's first product leader focused on safety technology. Over time, he advanced through the organization, known for a hands-on leadership approach. He is recognized for his ethos of personally completing nearly 1,000 Uber driving and delivery trips to inform product insight and user experience, as well as his focus on rapid iteration across global teams.
