SWV Biography
SWV (Sisters With Voices) burst onto the R&B scene in 1992 with their triple-platinum debut It’s About Time, featuring timeless hits like "Weak," "I’m So Into You," and "Right Here." The album earned the group Grammy and American Music Award nominations, multiple Billboard nods, and cemented their status as one of the most successful girl groups of the ’90s.
Their follow-up albums, New Beginning (1996) and Release Some Tension (1997), produced chart-topping singles including "You’re the One," "Rain," and collaborations with artists like Missy Elliott, Timbaland, and Sean “Puffy” Combs. To date, SWV has sold over 30 million records worldwide and are recognized as pioneers whose sound helped shape modern R&B.
After disbanding in 1998, the trio reunited in 2005 and have remained a fixture on stage, celebrating their 30th anniversary in 2023 with new tours and the Bravo series "SWV & Xscape: Queens of R&B." They continue to captivate fans across generations, recently co-headlining a 2024 tour with Xscape.
