Ryan Ridley

Ryan Ridley is an American writer, producer, and voice actor known for his contributions to television animation, comedy writing, and genre film. Ridley began his career with appearances in Dan Harmon's short film festival Channel 101 and on the VH-1 program Acceptable TV. This early collaboration with Harmon led to a creative partnership that included joining the writing staff of the NBC sitcom "Community," where Ridley served as executive story editor for two seasons.

Ridley became a core member of the writing team for Adult Swim's animated series "Rick and Morty." He served as co-producer in season one, producer in season two, and co-executive producer in season three. Ridley co-created the character Evil Morty with Stephen Sandoval in the episode "Close Rick-counters of the Rick Kind." He also co-wrote the episode "The Ricklantis Mixup," which earned Ridley and Dan Guterman the Annie Award for Outstanding Achievement in Writing for TV/Broadcast Production. Ridley has received two Primetime Emmy Awards and one nomination for his work on the series.

In addition to writing and producing, Ridley has provided voice work for "Rick and Morty," most notably as the Lighthouse Keeper on the Purge planet. He has continued to contribute voiceovers for minor characters on the show. Ridley's voice acting credits also include "Solar Opposites," "Star Trek: Lower Decks," the video game "Battletoads," and "High on Life."

Ridley has contributed to feature film writing, co-writing the screenplay for "Renfield" with Robert Kirkman and working on "Companion." His television credits include "Ghosted" and "Blue Mountain State," demonstrating versatility across animation, live-action comedy, and genre storytelling. Ridley also co-hosted "The Grandma's Virginity Podcast" with Justin Roiland and Jackie Buscarino, reflecting his ongoing commitment to collaborative comedy and television writing.
