Rosanna Scotto

Rosanna Scotto is a broadcast journalist recognized for her work as co-host of "Good Day New York" on Fox 5 NY (WNYW). Scotto has been a member of WNYW-FOX 5 News since 1986 and has served as the lead female news anchor since 1990. Her career in television journalism spans decades, making her a familiar presence on New York morning television and a trusted voice for viewers across the tri-state area.

Scotto began her television career at WTBS in Atlanta, where she worked as a reporter for two local programs and as an associate producer for the station's evening newscast. She returned to New York as a reporter for WABC's "Good Morning New York," which later became "Live with Regis and Kathie Lee." After a year with "Good Morning New York" and "The Morning Show," Scotto joined WABC-TV's Eyewitness News as a reporter before moving to FOX 5. She started at WNYW-TV as a weekend anchor and reporter and later anchored the weekday edition of Fox 5 News.

Scotto has covered major news stories in the tri-state area and has reported from locations including Israel, Rome, and across the United States. Her assignments have included exclusive interviews and coverage of high-profile cases such as the Christie Brinkley divorce case, the Woody Allen/Mia Farrow child custody battle, the "Preppie Murder Trial," and the trials of Joel Steinberg and the Swiss Nanny. Scotto was promoted to anchor of "Good Day New York," where she co-hosted alongside sports commentator Curt Menefee, who also appears on Fox NFL Sunday.

Scotto has received six Emmy Awards for anchoring "FOX 5 News at 10" and "Good Day New York." She earned the New York State Associated Press First Place Award for her report "New York Survival Guide" and has received three additional Associated Press First Place Awards, along with two special Associated Press Award nominations. Scotto was inducted into the Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame in recognition of her contributions to the television industry. She is a graduate of Catholic University with a bachelor's degree in fine arts and holds honorary doctorates from Mount St. Mary College and St. John's University.

In addition to her journalism career, Scotto has appeared in television and film, often portraying a news anchor in productions such as "The Object of My Affection," "Ransom," "The Scout," and "Ghostbusters." She is also co-owner of Fresco by Scotto, an Italian restaurant in Midtown Manhattan founded by her mother, Marion Scotto. The restaurant is known as a destination for business executives and entertainment industry professionals. Scotto has received numerous honors for her community service, reflecting her ongoing engagement with New York City beyond the newsroom.
