Rollin Jewett

Rollin Jewett is a creative professional whose career in writing and entertainment spans several decades. He has worked as a theater and film actor, singer-songwriter, produced screenwriter, and off-Broadway playwright. After attending Florida State University as a theatre major, Jewett launched his professional acting and screenwriting career under the stage name Rollin Jarrett. While at university, classmate Alan Ball cast him in the original play "Dickinson Hall," which premiered at the school. After small roles in films such as "The Bodyguard" with Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston, as well as appearances on "Miami Vice" and "Unsolved Mysteries," Jewett moved to Los Angeles and focused on screenwriting.

Upon arriving in Los Angeles, Jewett sold his first script, "Laws of Deception," which starred C. Thomas Howell and James Russo. His next script was the cult horror-comedy "American Vampire," which starred Adam West, Sidney Lassick, and Carmen Electra in her first feature film. His screenwriting credits also include the vampire western "Daylight to Dark," starring Tuesday Knight of "Nightmare on Elm Street IV." Jewett's comedy script "Demons for Dummies" was a finalist in the Creative Screenwriting Unique Voices Screenplay Competition, the Emerging Screenwriter's Competition in the comedy category, and the Final Draft Big Break Screenplay Contest.

As a playwright, Jewett's works have been produced off-Broadway and internationally, earning several awards. His one-act refugee drama "Buzzkill" won first place at the Renegade Theatre Festival and was selected for the Downtown Urban Arts Festival, where it won second place. His plays have also received recognition from the Helen Jean Play Contest and the LaBute New Theater Festival. Jewett has returned multiple times to the Downtown Urban Arts Festival, including with the dark comedy "Our Little Secret." Some of his plays are published by Lazy Bee Scripts.

Jewett's stories, poetry, and photography have appeared in various books, journals, and magazines, and he is a frequent guest speaker at conventions and writing seminars. He has also written children's literature, including the picture book "Pick Me!" in collaboration with illustrator Tina Gedney. In music, his songs "Arizona Sun" and "Ride Tall" were winners of the Chicago IMSTA FESTA Award. Jewett has also received multiple X-Poze-Ing Music Awards and Akademia Music Awards, earned a nomination for best Americana song at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards, and was named male rising star at the International Singer-Songwriter Association Awards. Jewett's work spans screenwriting, playwriting, fiction, poetry, children's books, and music, contributing to American creative arts and entertainment.
