Robert Hammond Biography
Robert Hammond is the president and chief strategy officer at Therme Group US, a company driven by the belief that wellbeing should be accessible to all. The company's vision is to combine the traditions of global thermal bathing with an indoor tropical ecosystem to create resorts that deliver experiences that enhance the mind, body, and soul.
Previously, Hammon was the co-founder and former executive director of Friends of the High Line from 1999 to 2022, a nonprofit dedicated to reimagining the role of public spaces to create connected, healthy neighborhoods and cities. He's also consulted for various entrepreneurial endeavors and nonprofits, including the Times Square Alliance, Alliance for the Arts, and National Cooperative Bank (NCB).
Hammond is also a self-taught artist. From 2002 to 2005, he served as an ex-officio trustee of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Hammond served as a producer on "Citizen Jane: Battle for the City," a film chronicling the life of activist Jane Jacobs and her battle to save New York from the wrecking ball of urban renewal. In 2009, he was awarded the Rome Prize from the American Academy in Rome.
