Rob Ninkovich

Rob Ninkovich is a two-time Super Bowl champion and former NFL defensive end and outside linebacker whose 11-year professional career highlights perseverance, work ethic, and football intelligence. Ninkovich played college football for the Purdue Boilermakers as a defensive end and was selected by the New Orleans Saints in the fifth round of the NFL Draft. Before Purdue, he attended Joliet Junior College, where he won an NJCAA national championship, then transferred to Purdue University. There, he tied for the team lead and ranked second in the Big Ten with eight sacks, and was named Purdue's Most Valuable Player as a senior after recording 48 tackles, eight sacks, two interceptions, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery.

After brief stints with the New Orleans Saints and Miami Dolphins, Ninkovich spent eight seasons with the New England Patriots. He started 16 of 17 postseason games and contributed to two championships: Super Bowls XLIX and LI. His on-field impact was defined by consistency and versatility, recovering an NFL-best 14 fumbles over seven seasons and recording eight sacks three years in a row, becoming the first Patriots player to do so since Hall of Famer Andre Tippett. Ninkovich also served as co-captain in multiple seasons. In the Patriots' 28-24 win over the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLIX, Ninkovich sacked Russell Wilson once and recorded six tackles.

Ninkovich announced his retirement from the NFL after 11 seasons, including eight with the Patriots. His transition to the media industry included serving as an analyst for WBZ-TV CBS Boston during Patriots preseason games. He then joined ESPN as an NFL analyst, regularly contributing to studio coverage on "Get Up," "First Take," "NFL Live," and "SportsCenter," as well as on ESPN Radio. Ninkovich's experience as a two-time champion, team captain, and defensive leader under a demanding coaching staff provides insight and credibility in his football analysis.
