Rick Tyler

Rick Tyler is a recognized conservative voice in American political media, serving as a political analyst for MSNBC Cable News Network, where he provides analysis of the political landscape. Tyler is known for offering direct commentary on political developments, focusing on the substance behind political actions and rhetoric.

As director of the Advanced School of Politics at the Leadership Institute, Tyler leads a team dedicated to training conservative candidates, operatives, and activists in campaign strategy and political communication.

Tyler's career in Republican politics spans decades and includes involvement in significant campaigns and with influential figures in modern conservatism. He served as a key advisor and spokesperson for Speaker Newt Gingrich for more than 10 years. During the 2012 election cycle, Tyler was senior advisor and spokesman for Winning Our Future, a pro-Newt Gingrich for President Super PAC, where he provided strategic advice to support Gingrich's campaign for the Republican presidential nomination. As national spokesman and communications director for Cruz for President, Tyler was a senior member of Senator Ted Cruz's campaign team and previously held an executive role with The Strategy Group Company, a nationally recognized political advertising and media placement firm.

Beyond campaign work, Tyler is active as a trainer and educator in political strategy. He has served as lead trainer for GOPAC and as a trainer for the Leadership Institute, instructing candidates, citizens, and public officials in the United States and internationally, including in Canada, Italy, Greece, Japan, Latvia, and Israel, on running effective campaigns for elected office. Tyler has been a guest lecturer at the Institute for Politics at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard, the Robert J. Dole Institute for Politics at the University of Kansas, the Global Center for Political Engagement, and The George Washington University. He has also worked as an on-air host with Sirius XM Radio's POTUS channel, providing conservative commentary.

Tyler is the author of "Still Right: An Immigrant-Loving, Hybrid-Driving, Composting American Makes the Case for Conservatism." In "Still Right," he examines the principles of conservatism and contrasts them with trends he identifies within the Republican Party. Tyler is also a contributing author to the New York Times bestsellers "Real Change: From the World that Fails to the World that Works" and "To Save America."
