Rick Moranis Biography
Frederick Allan Moranis is a Canadian actor, comedian, musician, producer, songwriter and writer.
Moranis appeared in the sketch comedy series Second City Television (SCTV) in the 1980s and starred afterward in several Hollywood films, including "Strange Brew," "Streets of Fire," "Ghostbusters," its sequel "Ghostbusters II," "Little Shop of Horrors," "Spaceballs," "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids," "Parenthood," "My Blue Heaven," and "The Flintstones".
In 1997, Moranis began a long break from acting to dedicate his time to care for his two children. He has been an acive voice-over artist for many animated films, including Disney's "Brother Bear" (2003). He also released comedy albums and made appearances at fan conventions. In 2025, it was announced that he would return to film in the new "Spaceballs" movie from Amazon MGM Studios.
