Ren Herdman

Ren “Warrior Wolf” Herdman is the descendant of Jesse Brock, a documented Cherokee who fought on behalf of the Revolutionary War. His father was ""Chief Aaron 'Red Bird' Brock, documented to be a Cherokee Chief from the Red Bird River in Kentucky.

Herdman is the current principal CEO/Chief of the Central Appalachian Cherokee Tribe, a 501c3 community-based and educational tribe located in the Central Appalachian region of the country (not affiliated with any federal tribe.) Herdman is also a 7th degree Grandmaster instructor of martial arts (Tang Soo Do.) She is one of the highest ranked female martial artists in her art form. Master Ren is an 8-time Martial Arts Hall of Fame inductee and a former World Tang Soo Do Championship Competitor. Master Ren has also written 5 books and has been featured in over 320 karate magazines, including nine magazine cover shots. She has collaborated with world-wide supplier Century Martial Arts to create 2 product lines, both which successfully sold across the globe.

In 1997, Master Ren started “The Blood and Fire Federation” which successfully brings martial arts into the inner cities of America and Native American Tribal lands. She has instructed hundreds of “at-risk youth” throughout many cities across the country and works with ""missing and murdered"" causes throughout various tribal areas.

In 2012 Mayor Michael Hancock of Denver, Colorado proclaimed June 16, 2012, to be “Karen Herdman Day,” stating “through Master Ren’s compassion for others, Denver and the world are much better places.”

In 2021, Master Ren was awarded the President's Lifetime Achievement Award from the White House for her “commitment to building a stronger nation through volunteer service,” the highest volunteer medal a U.S. citizen can receive.
