Rehana Farrell is the chief executive officer of 100 Women in Finance, a global nonprofit organization focused on advancing gender diversity and empowering women in the finance industry. Farrell has extensive experience in both financial services and nonprofit leadership, having spent more than two decades in the financial sector before transitioning to mission-driven work. She holds an AB in economics from Smith College, where she served on the Investment Committee for the Board of Trustees as treasurer of the Alumnae Association, and an MBA from Columbia Business School, where she was president of Columbia Women in Business.
Farrell began her career at Prudential Financial, working in commercial mortgage origination and mergers and acquisitions. She later held roles at Smith Barney, Merrill Lynch, Guggenheim Partners, and Cain Hoy Enterprises, managing strategic functions across both large global teams and smaller entrepreneurial operations. At Merrill Lynch, she held several global leadership positions, including chief operating officer for Wealth Management Solutions, chief financial officer for International Wealth Management, and head of UHNW Wealth Management Solutions. She subsequently served as chief operating officer of Cain Hoy Enterprises, a private equity firm she helped found with colleagues from Guggenheim Partners, where she was previously chief administrative officer.
After her tenure in finance, Farrell joined Youth INC, a nonprofit capacity builder in New York City, which she spun out from its parent organization and led for a decade. Her combined experience in C-suite financial roles and nonprofit leadership positioned her to lead one of the finance industry’s prominent advocacy organizations.
As CEO of 100 Women in Finance, Farrell leads a global network of financial professionals dedicated to supporting women at all career stages. The organization has 10,000 members across 33 locations and hosts more than 250 in-person events annually. Farrell focuses on building relationships with corporate partners and mission-aligned organizations to expand opportunities for members, while advancing the Vision 30/40 initiative, which aims for women to hold 30 percent of senior investment roles and executive committee positions by 2040. Farrell is a recognized voice on gender equity in finance, having contributed to outlets such as Newsweek and participated in industry forums including Milken Institute Global Conference and SuperReturn International, advocating for a more inclusive and high-performing financial industry.
