Rayner Loi

Rayner Loi is the co-founder and CEO of Lumitics, a Singapore-based artificial intelligence food technology company focused on helping commercial kitchens reduce food waste through data-driven insights. Loi co-founded the company, originally known as Good For Food, while an undergraduate after meeting his co-founder during an accelerator program in Singapore. He earned a Bachelor of Science in finance with a minor in entrepreneurship from the Singapore University of Social Sciences, building the business alongside his studies. Under Loi's leadership, Lumitics expanded from a local startup to a prominent food waste technology provider in the Asia-Pacific region, with deployments in more than 20 countries across the region and the Middle East.

Lumitics' core product is "Insight," a smart food waste tracker that combines hardware, sensors, and proprietary AI image recognition technology to automatically weigh and identify discarded food in commercial kitchens. The system integrates with existing kitchen workflows, generating data that helps chefs make informed procurement, portioning, and production decisions. Loi led partnerships with major hospitality and travel brands, including Accor Group, Hyatt Group, Four Seasons, Singapore Airlines, and Cathay Pacific. According to Forbes, the "Insight" tracker has helped reduce clients' food waste by an average of 40 percent and saved over 500,000 meals. Lumitics received investment from Velocity Ventures, Temasek Foundation, and Enterprise Singapore, and support from NUS Enterprise and regional incubator BLOCK71.

Loi has been recognized for his contributions to sustainability and technology. He was named by TIME Magazine as one of its Next Generation Leaders and was included on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list in the Industry, Manufacturing & Energy category. As a keynote speaker, Loi addresses topics such as artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship, innovation, and sustainability, drawing on his experience building a technology-driven company focused on reducing food waste. He has also engaged with policymakers on food donation legislation, advocating for regulatory frameworks that facilitate surplus food donation by businesses.

Lumitics was acquired by London-based AI food waste company Winnow, bringing together two leading technology providers in the global hospitality sector. Loi noted that Lumitics developed technical and operational expertise in addressing food waste across various cuisines, kitchen formats, and hospitality environments in Asia-Pacific and the Middle East, strengthening Winnow's regional capabilities. The acquisition represents a significant milestone in Loi's career and highlights the global importance of addressing food waste through artificial intelligence and sustainability solutions.
