Randall Cunningham

Randall W. Cunningham is a former NFL quarterback with 16 years of experience. He notably played college football at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he accumulated 8,020 passing yards and 59 touchdowns over three seasons. As a versatile player, Cunningham also performed remarkably in punting, registering an average of 45.6 yards, and rushed for 204 yards with 8 touchdowns.

He was selected 37th overall in the second round of the 1985 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles, with whom he remained through the 1995 season. His performances, including a notable game against Jim Kelly and the Buffalo Bills in 1990, earned him four Pro Bowl selections. Cunningham then moved to the Minnesota Vikings, where he led the team to a 15-1 regular season record in 1998, helping them set the NFL record for the most regular season points scored. Moreover, he achieved an impressive passer rating of 106.0 that year. He also played for the Dallas Cowboys, and the Baltimore Ravens before re-signing with the Philadelphia Eagles and retiring for good in 2002.

Throughout his career, Cunningham received various awards such as the Bert Bell Award three times, the PFWA NFL Most Valuable Player, UPI NFC Offensive Player of the Year, and NFL Comeback Player of the Year. Cunningham was named the 23rd greatest quarterback of the NFL's post-merger era by Football Nation in 2012. His jersey number 12 was retired by the UNLV Rebels and he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2016.

After his retirement, Cunningham returned to UNLV to finish his college degree in film. In addition, he authored the book "Lay It Down: How Letting Go Brings Out Your Best" in 2013. Cunningham further contributed to football by serving as the head coach at Silverado High School and turning the program around with a playoff victory.

Cunningham founded a church called Remnant Ministries in Las Vegas in 2004. Honoring his faith, he served as the team chaplain for the Las Vegas Raiders from 2020 to 2022.
