Quinyon Mitchell began his journey to professional football at the University of Toledo. There, his skills as a cornerback earned him a two-time first-team All-MAC selection in 2022 and 2023. He also distinguished himself as a semifinalist for the Chuck Bednarik Award in his final college season, a testament to his hard work and dedication on the field. His performance at the collegiate level led to an invitation to the prestigious 2024 Senior Bowl.
Mitchell's success continued with his entry into the National Football League (NFL). He was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft, marking the beginning of his professional career. In his rookie year, Mitchell demonstrated his acumen on the field in a stunning performance against the Commanders, successfully silencing star receiver Terry McLaurin. His effective coverage skills earned him the nickname "Quinyonamo Bay."
Acknowledging his talent, the Pro Football Writers of America named Mitchell to the PFWA All-Rookie Team in 2024. He also recorded his first career interception in the 2024 NFL playoffs during a wild-card game against the Green Bay Packers. Mitchell became a Super Bowl champion after the Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in Super Bowl LIX.
