Quinn Hughes

Quinn Hughes is a professional ice hockey defenseman for the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted seventh overall by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft and quickly established himself as one of the league’s elite offensive defensemen. Known for his exceptional skating, vision, and puck-handling, Hughes was nominated for the Calder Memorial Trophy as the NHL’s top rookie and went on to win the James Norris Memorial Trophy in 2024 as the league’s best defenseman.

Hughes spent the first seven seasons of his NHL career with the Canucks, where he set multiple franchise records for defensemen and served as team captain from 2023 to 2025. In December 2025, he was traded to the Minnesota Wild, where he has continued to produce at a high level, demonstrating his dynamic two-way play and leadership on the ice. He comes from a hockey family—his younger brothers Jack and Luke Hughes are also NHL players, and his parents both have deep ties to the sport.
