Qasar Younis

Qasar Younis is a Pakistani American entrepreneur, engineer, and technologist recognized as the co-founder and CEO of Applied Intuition, a company specializing in artificial intelligence and autonomous systems. Younis holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Kettering University, formerly known as General Motors Institute, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He began his career as an engineer at General Motors and later at Bosch in Japan, gaining experience in automotive engineering and technology.

After completing his MBA, Younis transitioned to entrepreneurship and moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to start TalkBin, a customer feedback application used by retailers such as Crate & Barrel. TalkBin, a messaging platform, was acquired by Google Maps, where Younis served as a product and engineering lead. He later became a partner and chief operating officer at Y Combinator, a startup accelerator known for supporting companies including OpenAI, Cruise, DoorDash, Twitch, Reddit, and Coinbase. In this role, Younis guided startups through critical stages of development, drawing on his background in automotive manufacturing, consumer technology, and startup mentorship.

Younis co-founded Applied Intuition with Peter Ludwig, a former Google product manager and software engineer, to address the challenges of designing, testing, and validating complex autonomous systems. Applied Intuition develops software platforms and simulation tools for physical AI, providing an autonomy stack for road vehicles, industrial machines, and defense systems. The company works with major global original equipment manufacturers, autonomy startups, and defense organizations to accelerate autonomy programs. Applied Intuition employs more than 1,000 people and develops applications ranging from automotive driver-assistance features to military vehicles and robotics.

Under Younis's leadership, Applied Intuition has raised significant funding, achieving a multibillion-dollar valuation while maintaining profitability and expanding into generative AI for vehicle intelligence. Investors include Andreessen Horowitz, Fidelity Investments, Lux Capital, General Catalyst, Ray Dalio, Henry Kravis, Mary Meeker, Reid Hoffman, and Mustafa Suleyman.

Younis is regarded as a leading voice in artificial intelligence, autonomous vehicles, and intelligent systems. Kettering University awarded him an honorary Doctor of Engineering degree. He has spoken at forums including the Milken Institute Global Conference and the HumanX conference, discussing the deployment and scaling of AI in real-world environments. Younis's career spans automotive engineering, technology entrepreneurship, and the advancement of physical AI, making him a prominent figure in the development of autonomous systems and artificial intelligence.
