Plain White T's

Plain White T's is an American pop-punk band originating from Lombard, Illinois, formed by high school friends Tom Higgenson, Dave Tirio, and Ken Fletcher, with Steve Mast joining shortly after. The group initially built a following in Chicago's local music scene, performing in basements, clubs, and bars. Their early years included appearances at Warped Tour and opening slots for bands such as Jimmy Eat World and AFI. During this period, Higgenson sustained a serious back injury in a car accident, an experience that influenced his songwriting toward more personal themes.

The band self-financed the recording of the album "Stop," which attracted the attention of Fearless Records. After signing with the label, Plain White T's released "All That We Needed," featuring "Hey There Delilah." The song was later re-recorded for "Every Second Counts," their major-label debut with Hollywood Records, and achieved significant commercial success, reaching number one on Billboard's Hot 100. "Hey There Delilah" was certified quadruple-platinum and received Grammy Award nominations for Song of the Year and Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.

Following this breakthrough, the band released "Big Bad World," which included the singles "1, 2, 3, 4" and "Natural Disaster," both of which charted on the American Top 40. The singles "1, 2, 3, 4" and "Rhythm of Love" achieved platinum certification. "Rhythm of Love," from the album "The Wonders of the Younger," reached number five on the Hot AC chart and remained in the top ten. Plain White T's music has been featured in popular culture, including a performance of "Our Time Now" on Nickelodeon's "iCarly" and placement in commercials for ABC Family's "Greek."

Throughout lineup changes and label transitions, Plain White T's have maintained a consistent presence in the pop-punk and alternative rock genres. After departing Hollywood Records, "American Nights" was released by Megaforce Records, and the band later returned to Fearless Records for the album "Parallel Universe." The band's discography includes nine studio albums, three extended plays, 21 singles, and 18 music videos, reflecting a sustained commitment to songwriting and performance in the pop-punk scene.
