Pippa Evans

Pippa Evans is a British comedian, improviser, writer, and musical performer best known for her sharp wit and versatility across stage, radio, and television. A key figure in the UK comedy and improv scene, Evans gained prominence through her work with the acclaimed improv troupe "Showstopper! The Improvised Musical," which has enjoyed sold-out runs in the West End and at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Evans studied drama at Birmingham University and trained with the National Youth Music Theatre, honing a talent for both comedic timing and musical performance. She first made a major splash at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2008 with her solo show "Pippa Evans and Other Lonely People," earning a nomination for the if.comedy Best Newcomer Award.

Beyond the stage, Evans is a frequent contributor to BBC Radio 4 programs such as The Now Show, I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue, and The News Quiz. She is also known for her character work, including the satirical country singer Loretta Maine. In addition to performing, she is an advocate for joy and creativity, having written the book Improv Your Life, which draws on her background in improvisation to offer insights on resilience and play.

That’s What I Call Musical," which began its nationwide tour in September 2024, directed by Craig Revel Horwood and produced by ROYO, Universal Music UK and Sony Music Entertainment. Evans is much in demand as a dramaturg and creative on musical theater productions. She was the dramaturg on the Savoy Theatre’s production of "9 to 5: The Musical," which toured the UK following its London residency and was commissioned to write an original song for the closing of Netflix’s "Jack Whitehall: Christmas With My Father," which Whitehall performed.

Evans is a founder member of Olivier Award winning "Showstopper! The Improvised Musical" and has performed with them across the UK, in the West End and internationally. She also co-hosts The Showstopper! Podcast, interviewing and improvising with West End musical theater performers and creatives.

Evans is a a frequent contributor to BBC Radio 4 programs such as The Now Show, I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue, and The News Quiz, and she has toured theaters nationwide as a member of the official I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue cast. She has also performed her original comedy songs on ITV’s Tonight at the Palladium and has performed multiple critically acclaimed solo musical comedy shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and across the world, including the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival and Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
