Phil Davis

Phil Davis is recognized as one of the most accomplished light heavyweight fighters in the history of mixed martial arts, with a professional record of 25-8-0 across three of the sport's leading organizations. Before his professional MMA career, Davis gained athletic recognition as a wrestler for Penn State University, where he became an NCAA Division I champion. He finished in fifth place nationally in the 197-pound weight class as a junior before winning the 197-pound NCAA title the following year, compiling an overall wrestling record of 116-20 and earning four-time NCAA Division I All-American honors. This championship-level wrestling background became the foundation of his MMA skill set.

Davis began his professional mixed martial arts career by compiling a 4-0 record in regional promotions across the United States before signing with Ultimate Fighting Championship. He made his UFC debut against Brian Stann at UFC 109, winning by unanimous decision, and later defeated Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 112 via first-round submission, handing Gustafsson his first professional loss. Davis's nickname, "Mr. Wonderful," was established after his fight against Tim Boetsch at UFC 123, where he won by a one-handed modified kimura submission, later named the "Mr. Wonderful." After his final fight in UFC, Davis signed with Bellator MMA. Davis became the Bellator MMA light heavyweight world champion after defeating Liam McGeary. Following the merger of PFL and Bellator MMA, Davis joined the PFL roster as one of the former Bellator champions. He was announced as a participant in the PFL Light Heavyweight Tournament, where he defeated Rob Wilkinson by knockout in the second round of the first round of the PFL World Tournament. Throughout his career, Davis has demonstrated notable durability, never having been knocked out or submitted, underscoring his defensive skills and athleticism.
