Peter Norvig Biography
Peter Norvig is a computer scientist specializing in artificial intelligence and online search. Norvig serves as a Distinguished Education Fellow at Stanford's Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence Institute and was the former director of research at Google Inc. He was responsible for maintaining and improving Google’s core web search algorithms during his tenure. He maintains a presence in research at Google. Before joining Google, Norvig held the position of chief computer scientist at NASA.
Norvig is a fellow of the American Association for Artificial Intelligence and the author of the textbook "Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach." Along with Sebastian Thrun, Norvig taught the Stanford University class "Introduction to Artificial Intelligence," which was made available globally and enrolled more than 160,000 students from 209 countries.
Norvig is also known for writing the world's longest palindromic sentence. He is an influential speaker on topics related to artificial intelligence, ethics, and technology, and is recognized for his contributions to computer science education and research.
