Peter Kaldes

Peter Kaldes is a nonprofit executive and leader in the field of aging, serving as president and CEO of Next50, a national foundation focused on improving the quality of life for older adults through grantmaking and social investments. Under Kaldes’ leadership, Next50 has become the first aging foundation to invest the entirety of its nearly $300million endowment with aging. With more than two decades of experience leading mission-driven organizations, Kaldes has expertise in strategic leadership, innovation, and advocacy for aging populations.

Before joining Next50, Kaldes was president and CEO of the American Society on Aging, where he guided the organization through the global pandemic, revitalized its brand, and launched ASA Rise, a leadership academy focused on social justice for rising leaders of color. His tenure included an increase in membership and the introduction of new programming. Kaldes also led the South Florida Institute on Aging, implementing technology and economic initiatives, and previously directed global philanthropic investments at JPMorgan Chase. His public service includes advising President Barack Obama on economic policy in the White House and serving as legal counsel in the U.S. Senate.

Kaldes is known for public speaking and thought leadership, frequently appearing at national forums and industry events to discuss innovative approaches to aging and social impact. His career centers on advancing equity, organizational growth, and empowering professionals in the aging sector. Kaldes holds degrees from Tufts University and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
