Penn and Teller

Penn Jillette and Teller, known collectively as Penn & Teller, are magicians, entertainers, and scientific skeptics recognized for their influential partnership in the world of magic and comedy. The duo has performed together since the mid-1970s, developing a signature act that blends elements of comedy with magic. In most performances, Jillette serves as the primary speaker, while Teller employs non-verbal techniques such as mime, contributing to their distinctive style. Their career began with street performances in Philadelphia and expanded to sold-out runs on Broadway, where they have consistently redefined the genre of magic and carved out a unique niche in comedy entertainment.

Penn & Teller gained national attention with their Off-Broadway show and the Emmy Award–winning PBS special "Penn & Teller Go Public." Their Broadway appearances were complemented by multiple performances on Saturday Night Live and The Late Show with David Letterman. Their television work includes the long-running Showtime series "Penn & Teller: Bullshit!", which explored skepticism, pseudoscience, and controversial topics such as psychics, religion, conspiracy theories, and the paranormal. The duo also reached new audiences through "Penn & Teller: Fool Us," a magic competition series that showcases magicians performing tricks in front of them.

As producers and creators, Penn & Teller have contributed to theater and television beyond their stage performances. The Olivier-nominated "Magic Goes Wrong," developed with Mischief Theatre, played at London's West End Vaudeville Theatre and set a box office pre-sale record. They have also produced "The Mind Mangler" and the technology-driven thriller "Stalker." Teller has directed stage adaptations of Macbeth and The Tempest, as well as co-writing and directing the Off-Broadway thriller Play Dead. Jillette is the author of five books, including the New York Times Best Sellers "God No!" and "Presto."

Penn & Teller have received numerous accolades, including a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and multiple honors from the Academy of Magical Arts, such as being named "Magicians of the Year" and receiving the Masters Fellowship. Their Las Vegas residency at The Rio Hotel & Casino has earned 10 wins as "Las Vegas Magicians of the Year." The duo has performed nearly 300 live shows annually at major venues, including the Sydney Opera House and London's Apollo Theatre.

In addition to their entertainment career, Penn & Teller are active in philanthropy. They serve as honorary chairmen for Aid for AIDS Nevada (AFAN), raising and donating nearly $2 million and participating as grand marshals for the organization's annual Las Vegas AIDS Walk. Their involvement with Opportunity Village has helped raise over $1 million to support individuals with intellectual disabilities. They have also participated in the USO's annual Christmas tour, entertaining servicemembers at bases across Europe. Penn & Teller's enduring partnership continues to influence the fields of magic, comedy, and entertainment.
