Paul du Toit

Paul du Toit is a professional speaker based in Africa, recognized for his expertise in presentation skills, mindset shift, and customer experience. His background in theater and entertainment provided a foundation for a career in facilitation, coaching, and professional speaking. Du Toit played guitar professionally before transitioning to the financial services sector, where he earned six consecutive International Quality Awards. He founded Congruence Training in Johannesburg, which offers skills training in leadership, communication, customer relationships, and presentation.

Du Toit's work in presentation skills is internationally acknowledged. He was the first speaker on the African continent in this century to receive the Certified Speaking Professional designation from the National Speakers Association in the United States. He later served as Southern Africa's CSP Liaison Officer, supporting other speakers in achieving their CSPs. Du Toit has trained, coached, and facilitated presentation skills since 1999, focusing on achieving results through mindset change, confident public speaking, sustainable behavior change, and developing profitable customer relationships. He incorporates storytelling to create relatable business analogies during his presentations.

As an author, du Toit has contributed to the fields of public speaking and communication. His book, "You Can Present With Confidence," was published by Greenleaf Book Group Press. He is also the co-author of "The Exceptional Speaker" (Revised Edition) with Alan Stevens and co-facilitates "The Exceptional Speaker" Masterclass online internationally. Du Toit blogs on presentation skills and customer service, and his articles on presenting and customer excellence have been widely published.

Du Toit is a founder member and past president of the Professional Speakers Association of Southern Africa and received the Founders Award at the Global Speakers Summit in Cape Town for service to the speaking industry. At the 5th Global Speakers Summit in Vancouver, he was recognized as one of 21 Global Speaking Fellows. He became an Honorary Fellow of the Professional Speaking Association of the United Kingdom & Ireland after delivering a keynote at the PSA convention in London. Du Toit has been inducted into the Southern African Speakers Hall of Fame and the Southern African Educators Hall of Fame. He has addressed audiences at conferences and corporate events worldwide.

Outside of his professional work, du Toit is committed to personal discipline and endurance, having completed 13 Two Oceans 56km ultra marathons and back-to-back Comrades marathons, which inspired his keynote talk "In For The Long Run." He emphasizes the importance of practical application in developing presentation skills, advocating for repeated practice to achieve excellence and increased confidence among his delegates.
