Paul Pugh

Paul Pugh is a designer and innovator with more than three decades of experience in consumer product design and development. Pugh and his teams have contributed to the product vision, strategy, and design for companies including Amazon, Under Armour, HP, Nokia, Microsoft, and AT&T, resulting in millions of products reaching the market. He has established design studios, managed large design organizations and global teams, and led the design of both hardware and software, with expertise in manufacturing and software development.

As Vice President of Creative at frog, Pugh oversaw the global software innovation practice, advancing design discussions, shaping future vision, and mentoring teams across the studio network. At Amazon, he led the Kindle design team, working on products such as "Kindle Reader," "Fire Phone," and "Fire TV." At Under Armour, Pugh served as Vice President of Connected Fitness Products, contributing to the development of sports apparel and gear. He managed the launch of five new products at CES in Las Vegas, including "UA Healthbox" and "Speedform Gemini II" connected running shoe, which received Best of Show recognition in the press.

Pugh has founded several companies, including Mediatruck, a venture-backed software tools and consulting company; Handwire, a boutique software design and development firm; and Airline Design, a design and consulting firm. Airline Design supports clients from concept through manufacturing, focusing on research, ideation, prototyping, and validation for both physical and digital products. Pugh resides in Japan and collaborates with a network of designers in Japan, Europe, the United States, and India.

Pugh is a frequent speaker and commentator on consumer electronics, mobile technology, and product innovation. He has presented on the future of mobile, spoken at the HarvardX conference on design, and provided commentary at CES for TheVerge.com. He has also been featured in Wired Magazine in connection with the launch of Under Armour's Healthbox. Pugh addresses topics including design, innovation, and marketing, drawing on entrepreneurial experience and creative leadership across industries.
