She holds an extensive academic record, having earned a B.A. in Nursing from Pasadena College, an A.A. in Nursing from Pasadena City College, an M.S. in Medical-Surgical Nursing from the University of California, San Francisco, School of Nursing, and a Ph.D. in Education, Stress, Coping, and Health from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Education.
