Pat Murphy

Pat Murphy, currently at the helm of the Milwaukee Brewers in Major League Baseball (MLB), ascended to this role in November 2023, following his tenure as the team's bench coach. Prior to joining the Brewers, Murphy served as the interim manager for the San Diego Padres in 2015. His leadership extended beyond the U.S., as he managed the Netherlands national baseball team in two significant international events: the 1987 European Baseball Championship and the 2000 Summer Olympics.

Murphy's coaching career is also deeply rooted in college baseball, with an impressive record of 947–400–2. His leadership led Arizona State University to clinch four Pac-10 regular season championships in 2000, 2007, 2008, and 2009. Additionally, the teams he coached made it to the College World Series four times. His coaching prowess was recognized in 1998 when he was named Baseball America's Coach of the Year. He also received the Horizon League Baseball Coach of the Year award multiple times, specifically in 1989, 1990, 1992, and 1993.

Under Murphy's management, the Brewers clinched the NL Central in 2024 and held the league's best record in 2025. His leadership skills were recognized when he won the NL Manager of the Year award twice, in 2024 and 2025. This was complemented with the prestigious Sporting News Manager of the Year Award in the same years. After a brief hiatus due to a heart attack in September 2020, Murphy made a strong comeback to his coaching duties with the Brewers, continuing his commitment to the sport.
