Pamela Brown

Pamela Brown is a journalist recognized for her contributions to American broadcast news. Brown serves as anchor and chief investigative correspondent at CNN, co-anchoring "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer and Pamela Brown." She began her career at ABC7/WJLA-TV and NewsChannel8 in Washington, D.C., where she worked as a Sunday evening anchor and special projects reporter, covering national and international news. Brown reported from Haiti following the earthquake and later returned to cover the rebuilding process in Port-au-Prince and surrounding areas. She holds a Master of Studies in Law from George Washington University.

Brown joined CNN as a national correspondent, later becoming justice correspondent and then senior White House correspondent. In her role as justice correspondent, she focused on law enforcement, national security, and the U.S. Supreme Court, reporting on major stories such as the San Bernardino terrorist attack, the Charlie Hebdo attack in France, and the Germanwings plane crash in Germany. As senior White House correspondent, Brown covered the Trump administration, reporting on the special counsel investigation, impeachment proceedings, the Covid pandemic, travel ban and child separation policies, and the dismissal of FBI Director James Comey. She was part of the CNN team that reported on the first criminal charges filed by Special Counsel Robert Mueller and covered Mueller's team meeting with the author of the Russia dossier.

As chief investigative correspondent, Brown led CNN's investigative team in exposing decades of sexual assault cover-ups within the U.S. Coast Guard, prompting congressional inquiries, the resignation of a top official, and an internal review by the Coast Guard. This reporting earned an Edward R. Murrow Award, a National Headliner Award, an award from the Center for Integrity in News Reporting, and multiple Emmy nominations. Brown has also received Emmy nominations for coverage of the Pulse nightclub shooting and the Manchester concert attack, and a Gracie Award for breaking news coverage of the Texas floods.

Brown served as senior Washington correspondent after anchoring the weekend primetime edition of "CNN Newsroom" and working on CNN's Voter Integrity Team during election cycles. She and her colleagues reported on the January 6th Select Committee's consideration of criminal referrals and Mark Meadows' compliance with a Department of Justice subpoena related to the January 6th investigation. Brown is also a public speaker, addressing topics such as working motherhood, Alzheimer's caregiving, and investigative journalism at organizations including J.P. Morgan, The Aspen Institute, and Salesforce.
