P.K. Subban

P.K. Subban, born Pernell-Karl Sylvester Subban, is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenseman who played 13 seasons in the National Hockey League with the Montreal Canadiens, Nashville Predators, and New Jersey Devils. The Canadiens selected Subban in the second round, 43rd overall, of the NHL Entry Draft. Over his career, Subban recorded 467 points—115 goals and 352 assists—in 834 regular-season games, and added 62 points in 96 Stanley Cup Playoff games.

Subban earned recognition for his offensive instincts, powerful shot, and ability to control play from the blue line. He won the Norris Trophy as the NHL's top defenseman, tying with Kris Letang as the season's leading scorer among defensemen. Subban was named to the NHL First All-Star Team twice and the Second All-Star Team once. He set career highs in points, plus/minus, game-winning goals, and blocked shots in a single season. During his tenure with Nashville, Subban finished in the top three for the Norris Trophy, earned a second-team All-Star selection, and played a key role in the Predators' run to the Stanley Cup Final. Internationally, Subban won three gold medals for Canada at major hockey events, including the World Junior Hockey Championships and the Olympic Winter Games.

Off the ice, Subban is known for his philanthropic work in Canadian sports. He completed a $10-million donation project to Montreal Children's Hospital, with the hospital's foundation noting that his "Unexpected Ways to Heal" campaign helped approximately 100,000 children.
