Ori Inbar

Ori Inbar is a prominent figure in the augmented reality industry, with nearly two decades dedicated to building, investing in, and advancing the AR ecosystem. Inbar has pursued the development of AR and virtual reality experiences, recognizing early the transformative impact of these technologies on computing and human interaction. Before AR entered mainstream discussion, Inbar established Games Alfresco, an augmented reality blog that contributed to the popularization of AR. He holds a double major in computer science and cinema from Tel Aviv University and is a graduate of the INSEAD University business leadership program.

Inbar began his entrepreneurial career at enterprise software startup TopTier Software, joining as one of its first employees. He led the development and market introduction of more than 15 internet and business applications, including a leading enterprise portal acquired by SAP for $400 million. As senior vice president of solution marketing for SAP's platform, Inbar was responsible for the positioning and marketing of SAP NetWeaver, which grew from a concept to a billion-dollar business. These experiences in scaling technology platforms provided Inbar with a combination of technical expertise and commercial insight that he later applied to the AR sector.

Inbar co-founded Ogmento, one of the first venture-backed companies focused on developing and publishing augmented reality games played in real-world environments. Ogmento developed location-based AR games prior to the emergence of Pokémon GO and was later acquired by Apple, forming the foundation for the ARKit team. This acquisition underscored Inbar's early commitment to AR and established his reputation in the field.

Through AugmentedReality.org, Inbar produces AWE — the Augmented World Expo — a major augmented reality event series that began with 300 attendees and now operates globally, drawing more than 10,000 participants. The event serves as a central gathering for the XR ecosystem, connecting technology platforms, startups, investors, and creators worldwide. Inbar also founded Super Ventures, a fund dedicated to investing in XR, at a time when most investors focused on virtual reality.

As founder and managing partner at Super Ventures and CEO of AugmentedReality.org, Inbar focuses on AR investments and ecosystem development. He advises and mentors XR startups, assisting with pitch development, networking, and product strategy. Inbar is a recognized industry speaker, lecturer at New York University, and adviser and board member for AR startups. With a career spanning enterprise software, game development, nonprofit leadership, venture capital, and global event production, Inbar is a leading voice on spatial computing and augmented reality.
