Omar Epps

Omar Epps is an actor, rapper, and producer whose career spans more than three decades in film and television. Epps made his feature film debut as a teenager in the urban crime drama "Juice." He went on to portray various athletic characters in early films, and later demonstrated his range to a broader audience through television roles. Epps developed an interest in the arts at an early age, writing stories and poetry by age 10, and attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music, Art and Performing Arts as a teen.

Epps built a diverse film résumé throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, appearing in projects such as "The Program," "Major League II," and the John Singleton-directed "Higher Learning." He also held lead roles in feature films including "The Wood," "In Too Deep," and "Love & Basketball." On television, Epps joined the cast of the medical series "ER," portraying an intern navigating the pressures of a busy Chicago hospital.

Epps is widely recognized for his long-running role on the Fox medical drama "House," where he starred alongside Hugh Laurie for eight seasons. For his work on "House," Epps received an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, additional nominations for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series, and a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. He also won a Silver Nymph Award at the Monte-Carlo TV Festival for Best Actor for "Deadly Voyage."

Epps has continued to work across both film and television. He appeared in 31 episodes of Starz crime drama "Power Book III: Raising Kanan," playing Howard, and joined the ensemble cast of Netflix limited series "The Perfect Couple" as Chief of Police Dan Carter. His film credits include Lionsgate thriller "The Devil You Know" and Netflix's "Fatal Affair" with Nia Long. Epps is a three-time NAACP Image Award winner and has appeared in series such as USA drama "Shooter," NBC's "This Is Us," and ABC's "Resurrection." Epps' career features performances across genres, contributing to his reputation as a dynamic presence in the entertainment industry.
