Olu Burrell

Olutosin Burrell, MSOD, PCC, is an executive and leadership coach, people strategy consultant, and organizational development expert with more than two decades of experience across sectors including government, private industry, nonprofit, secondary education, and higher education. Burrell has worked with clients in local and federal government, as well as organizations in the private and not-for-profit sectors, focusing on leadership development, organizational strategy, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

As president and CEO of Spoken IV Solutions LLC, doing business as Olu Burrell Consulting, Burrell provides executive and leadership coaching, people strategy consulting, and DEI advisory services. Prior to founding his consulting practice, he worked for the D.C. Government, developing expertise in youth education, employment, adult training, and coaching. He managed Washington D.C.'s Executive Leadership Program, preparing agency leaders for cabinet-level roles reporting to the mayor.

Burrell serves as adjunct faculty and executive coach for the Executive Leadership Council's Institute for Leadership Development and Research, coaching leaders from Fortune 1000 and Global 500 organizations. He is also an executive coach in leadership programs at American University’s Key Executive Leadership Program, the Executive MBA program at the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis, and the Center for Excellence in Public Leadership at George Washington University. His client portfolio includes organizations such as Block Inc., the Federal Bar Association, Capital One, Lockheed Martin, Microsoft, and Yum! Brands.

Burrell is certified as a Professional Certified Coach by the International Coach Federation and holds a global individual accreditation as a Senior Practitioner from the European Mentoring and Coaching Council. He is certified in several leadership and assessment tools, including the Leadership Circle Profile 360, Collective Leadership Assessment, Emotional-Social Competency Inventory 360, Intercultural Development and Conflict Style Inventories, and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. He is also certified as an Advanced Change Leader with Kotter International.

Burrell holds a Master of Science in Organization Development from American University, a Bachelor of Arts in English from Howard University, and a graduate certificate in Comprehensive Evidence-Based Coaching from Fielding Graduate University. He is pursuing a doctorate in human development from Fielding Graduate University. As a keynote speaker and industry expert, Burrell addresses topics such as human resources, diversity and inclusion, leadership, business growth, the future of work, strategic leadership, and belonging. He incorporates storytelling and spoken word into his presentations, encouraging clients to develop their own leadership narratives.
