Oliver Kharraz, MD

Oliver Kharraz, MD, is the CEO and founder of Zocdoc, a digital healthcare marketplace that connects patients with in-person and virtual care. Kharraz holds an MD and a doctorate in neuroscience from Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, as well as a master's degree in philosophy from the Jesuit College of Philosophy in Munich.

Before founding Zocdoc, Kharraz built a career at the intersection of medicine, healthcare technology, and business. He served as an associate principal at McKinsey & Company, where he developed and implemented patient utilization models for national health services and major hospital systems. Early in his career, Kharraz founded and sold a business focused on early internet software, contributing to his understanding of healthcare access and digital innovation.

Kharraz established Zocdoc and initially served as president before transitioning to CEO. Under his leadership, Zocdoc has streamlined the process of finding and booking healthcare appointments, reducing average patient wait times and enabling millions of users to find in-network doctors, book appointments, read verified reviews, and receive reminders for upcoming visits and preventive care. The platform utilizes proprietary data and machine learning to enhance its search algorithm and improve patient outcomes.

He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and has testified before the U.S. House of Representatives on healthcare access and technology.
