Oleg Rogynskyy

Oleg Rogynskyy is a Ukrainian-born technology entrepreneur, defense innovator, and investor whose career spans Silicon Valley artificial intelligence and frontline defense technology. Rogynskyy founded People.ai, an enterprise AI platform that secured acceptance into Y Combinator within 30 days and raised over $100 million from global investors. People.ai is used by companies such as Boeing, IBM, and DHL, reaching a $1.1 billion valuation and becoming a leading B2B AI startup.

Before founding People.ai, Rogynskyy developed expertise in AI and natural language processing. He served as vice president of marketing and growth at H2O.ai and previously founded Semantria, a natural language processing startup later acquired by Lexalytics. Semantria was described as the Dropbox of artificial intelligence by Forbes Magazine. These ventures established Rogynskyy’s ability to identify transformative technology and shaped his approach to defense innovation.

Rogynskyy is chief executive officer of UFORCE, a defense technology company that develops autonomous maritime and aerial systems, including the Magura uncrewed surface vessel and Nemesis UAV. These systems have been deployed in real-world operations in Ukraine and scaled for more than 10 NATO allies. UFORCE builds the Magura Unmanned Surface Vessel, the first naval drone to sink an enemy warship in combat, with eight Russian warships destroyed in the Black Sea during its initial year of operation. UFORCE, recognized as the first Ukrainian-born defense-tech unicorn, has reached a valuation exceeding $1 billion, following a $50 million funding round led by Shield Capital and Lakestar with participation from Ballistic Ventures.

UFORCE’s competitive advantage is rooted in translating combat experience into scalable defense technology, with its portfolio built on battlefield-tested solutions. Rogynskyy has also contributed to Ukraine’s defense tech community by founding Freedom Fund, a defense-tech fund that began investing in lethal systems before other investors entered the kinetic defense tech space. His media presence, including appearances on CNBC and Bloomberg, has positioned him as a prominent voice on autonomous defense systems and AI-driven national security.

Rogynskyy remains an active investor and advisor in Ukrainian defense technology and advocates for AI-first approaches to national security. He is a Cavalier of the Order of Merit (III Class) of Ukraine. His career, spanning enterprise AI and defense technology, positions him as a leading figure at the intersection of technology, national security, and geopolitical innovation.
