Novak Djokovic is a Serbian professional tennis player recognized for his achievements in men's singles tennis. Djokovic's early years in Belgrade during the Yugoslav Wars presented significant challenges, including training amid NATO bombing campaigns. His family made considerable financial sacrifices to support his tennis development, and these formative experiences contributed to his mental resilience and competitive drive.

Djokovic has secured 101 ATP Tour–level singles titles, including a record 24 major championships, 10 Australian Open titles, 40 Masters titles, seven year-end championships, and an Olympic gold medal. He has held the world No. 1 ranking in men's singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) for a record 428 weeks, finished as the year-end No. 1 a record eight times, and achieved the No. 1 ranking in at least one year across 13 different seasons. Djokovic is the only man in tennis history to be the reigning champion of all four majors at once across all three surfaces and the only player to achieve a triple Career Grand Slam by winning all four majors at least three times. He is known for his return game, backhand, and physical endurance.

Djokovic's career includes notable comebacks and resilience following injuries, such as returning from a torn medial meniscus during the French Open. He won the gold medal at the Paris Olympics, defeating Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets and becoming the oldest Olympic champion in men's singles. With this achievement, Djokovic became the fifth tennis player to complete a career Golden Slam—winning all four major tournaments and an Olympic gold medal. He has claimed at least one ATP singles title in 20 consecutive seasons and is the third player in the Open Era to win 100 or more career titles, following Jimmy Connors and Roger Federer. Djokovic holds the record for career prize money earnings among all tennis players.

Off the court, Djokovic has advocated for players' rights and contributed to philanthropy. He served as president of the ATP Player Council before co-founding the Professional Tennis Players Association (PTPA) with Vasek Pospisil, aiming to enhance players' influence and improve prize money structures for lower-ranked competitors. Djokovic established the Novak Djokovic Foundation, focusing on early childhood development and supporting children from disadvantaged communities. The foundation has built more than 50 schools and supported over 20,800 children and more than 1,000 families. Djokovic received the Arthur Ashe Humanitarian of the Year Award for his charitable work and his role as a UNICEF national ambassador.
