Norm Brodsky

Inc. columnist and senior contributing editor Norm Brodsky is a veteran entrepreneur who has founded and grown seven successful businesses. Brodsky went on to launch CitiStorage, the largest independent, privately owned archive business in the country, and in 2007 sold it along with Perfect Courier and an affiliated document destruction company he co-founded, U.S. Document Security, to Allied Capital. His other ventures include a large-scale land purchase now known as Bushwick Inlet Park; Kobeyaki, a fast-casual Japanese restaurant; and two hotels in North Dakota called Black Gold Suites.

Brodsky chronicles his entrepreneurial journey in his Inc. “Street Smarts” column and in the book "The Knack: How Street-Smart Entrepreneurs Learn to Handle Whatever Comes Up," both co-authored with Inc. editor-at-large Bo Burlingham.

He has been sharing his wisdom with up-and-coming entrepreneurs for 25 years as a one-on-one mentor, a nationally recognized columnist, public speaker and Master of Ceremonies of the Inc. 5000 Conference, America’s largest annual gathering of private entrepreneurs. Today, Norm owns 3 companies: hotels, restaurants and Birthing of Giants Entrepreneur Fellows Program.

In 2019, his alma mater, Rider University, honored Norm by naming the business school after him, The Norm Brodsky College of Business.
