Nina Davuluri

Nina Davuluri is an acclaimed filmmaker, activist, actor, & entrepreneur. She first gained international recognition by becoming the first Indian American and South Asian to become Miss America 2014.

Her most recent TED Talk, The Cost of Beauty From a Miss America, sparked a much needed conversation around toxic beauty standards and how we can begin to dismantle beauty culture.

As a global leader in redefining beauty standards, she spearheaded a campaign against colorism, #SeeMyComplexion. This led to her being invited by the CEO of L’oréal to join the L’oréal Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Advisory Board, which she currently serves on. Since then, she went to Harvard Business School for Entertainment, Media, & Sports.

The activist in her has combined the network she has cultivated, her love of advocacy, and disrupting global beauty standards by Executive Producing the documentary, #COMPLEXion.

Davuluri’s work in advocacy became apparent when she was first recognized by President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. She's been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, & GMA among several other news & media outlets.

In her spare time, she enjoys walks in her West Village neighborhood with her rescue pup, Dobby, and moonlighting as #SousChefNina experimenting, creating, and tasting fusion recipes!
