Niko Porikos

Niko Porikos is an entrepreneur and former Division I hockey player whose business experience began before entering the corporate world. Porikos developed an entrepreneurial mindset early, selling and reselling shoes and other items on eBay to help cover the costs of travel hockey. This initiative led him to the University of Michigan, where he played forward for the Wolverines and earned a degree in international studies, with double minors in entrepreneurship and Greek, as well as a certificate in sales and marketing from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business. He also participated in the university's Entrepreneurs Leadership Program and competed in the Frozen Four tournament.

Before completing his college career, Porikos started building businesses. His first company, CustomizediPhones.com, began with repairing and customizing iPhones and iPads for friends and family, eventually expanding to serve clients worldwide. Recognizing the demand for phone repairs, he launched "iTough," a scalable solution for device accessories. While still a student-athlete, Porikos founded iTough Accessories, selling thousands of cases while balancing academic and athletic commitments.

After graduation, Porikos pursued entrepreneurship full time. He launched "Nikomerce," a creative, consulting, and marketing agency based in Ann Arbor. Leveraging his e-commerce expertise, Nikomerce offers a comprehensive approach to digital marketing and owns several e-commerce brands that collectively manage significant advertising campaigns. One of Nikomerce's early successes was a partnership with Lyte Leggings, whose marketing campaign led to viral attention on TikTok and endorsements from public figures.

Porikos is also active in the college athletics Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) sector. He co-founded Valiant Management Group with former University of Michigan football player Jared Wangler to connect university athletes with fans and businesses through NIL opportunities. Valiant Management Group has secured substantial NIL deals for student-athletes, including group licensing apparel, signing events, marketing partnerships, media appearances, and signed memorabilia. The company launched university-licensed NFTs through agreements with Michigan quarterback JJ McCarthy, receiver Andrel Anthony, and running back Donovan Edwards.

Porikos is a keynote speaker and industry expert, addressing topics such as athlete experience, e-commerce, entrepreneurship, marketing, social media, sports motivation, and teamwork. His experience building multiple companies and leveraging skills developed through hockey positions him as a credible voice in business, innovation, and the evolving landscape of college sports.
