Nick Verreos

Nick Verreos is an American fashion designer, educator, author, and television personality with a multifaceted career in the fashion industry. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in political science at UCLA, Verreos shifted from a potential career in diplomacy to pursue fashion, completing an advanced fashion design degree at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM).

Following graduation from FIDM, Verreos worked for several companies in Los Angeles before launching his own high-end label, NIKOLAKI, with partner David Paul. The line debuted after Henri Bendel purchased the collection for its Manhattan flagship and was later carried in more than 100 stores, including Nordstrom and Fred Segal, as well as specialty boutiques in cities such as Manhattan and Tokyo.

NIKOLAKI is recognized for its couture-like quality, Grecian draping, and use of silk and jersey fabrics. The label’s gowns have appeared on red carpets at the Academy Awards, Emmys, Grammys, and SAG Awards. Notable clients include Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Carrie Underwood, Heidi Klum, Marlee Matlin, Eva Longoria, and Brenda Strong. Verreos later introduced a second label, NV Nick Verreos, based on the philosophy that every woman deserves a red carpet moment. This line has been sold at Lord & Taylor, Nordstrom, and Dillard's, as well as on QVC UK, QVC Italy, The Shopping Channel in Canada, and ShopHQ.

Verreos gained national and international attention through his appearance on the second season of "Project Runway" on Bravo, where he won the "All Dolled Up" challenge, designing a dress for the My Scene Barbie collection. He later returned to the franchise as the winning mentor on "Project Runway: Under The Gunn" and has served as a consulting producer, contributing fashion expertise and industry resources.

Beyond the runway, Verreos has worked as a red carpet fashion expert and correspondent for E! Entertainment, ABC's "On The Red Carpet," Reuters TV, NBC, and CNN International, covering major events such as the Golden Globes, Grammys, SAG Awards, Primetime Emmys, and the Academy Awards.

Verreos and David Paul were named co-chairs of the FIDM Fashion Design Program, further establishing his role as an educator in fashion design. He is the author of the fashion text "A Passion for Fashion: Achieving Your Fashion Dreams One Thread at a Time," co-written with David Paul and featuring a foreword by Tim Gunn. The book became a top new release on Amazon for fashion and textile business. Verreos is also the co-author of "The Pageant Coloring Book," "A Basic Guide to Pattern Drafting," and "A Comprehensive Guide to Men's Flat Sketching."

He extends his educational reach through the YouTube channel "Fashion School with Nick Verreos," which has a substantial global following. With a career spanning design, television, education, and publishing, Verreos offers hands-on expertise and industry insight across multiple platforms.
