Nicholas Pinchuk

Nicholas T. Pinchuk is the chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Snap-on Incorporated, a leading manufacturer of professional tools, equipment, and diagnostics solutions. Before beginning his corporate career, Pinchuk served as a first lieutenant in the United States Army in Vietnam. He holds both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in electrical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, as well as a Master of Business Administration from Harvard. This combination of engineering and business education has informed his approach throughout his career.

Before joining Snap-on, Pinchuk held executive operational and financial management positions at United Technologies Corporation and various financial and engineering roles at Ford Motor Company. At United Technologies, he served as president of global refrigeration operations for Carrier Corporation, and held additional roles including president of Asia-Pacific air conditioning operations, global vice president of strategic planning, and chief financial officer of Carrier International Corporation. He joined Snap-on as senior vice president and president of Snap-on's Worldwide Commercial and Industrial Group. Pinchuk was later named president and chief operating officer, appointed to Snap-on's board, elected chief executive officer, and subsequently chairman.

Under Pinchuk's leadership, Snap-on has expanded as a global manufacturer of tools and software for professional technicians, employing approximately 13,200 people worldwide and reporting net sales of $4.7 billion. The company has increased its manufacturing footprint, adding 15 factory operations in the United States and internationally. Pinchuk has overseen Snap-on's growth through strategic acquisitions, including Cognitran Ltd., AutoCrib Inc., Dealer-FX Group Inc., and Mountz.

Pinchuk has received recognition for his commitment to American manufacturing and workforce development. IndustryWeek inducted him into the Manufacturing Hall of Fame, and the National Association of Manufacturers honored him with its Manufacturing Icon Award. Chief Executive magazine recognized his contributions with its Excellence in Manufacturing Leadership award. The National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship named him the recipient of its Lifetime Achievement Award. Pinchuk also received the Davies Medal for Engineering Achievement from the School of Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Pinchuk is an advocate for community colleges and workforce development, appearing on CNBC and Bloomberg, as well as in publications including Wall Street Journal and New York Times, where he comments on the global economic landscape and the importance of skills training. He serves on the boards of the National Association of Manufacturers, the U.S. Council on Competitiveness, the National Manufacturing Institute, the U.S. Manufacturers Alliance, and Carthage College, and is past chair of the Skills for America's Future organization at The Aspen Institute. His experience in military service, global operations, and corporate leadership positions him as a prominent voice on manufacturing, innovation, and workforce development.
