Neeru Khosla

Neeru Khosla is an education technologist, philanthropist, and the controlling owner of the NFL's Seattle Seahawks. With a master's degree in molecular biology from San Jose State University and additional studies in gene expression at Stanford University, followed by a master's degree in education from the Stanford Graduate School of Education, Khosla brings an interdisciplinary perspective to educational equity. Her experiences in diverse learning environments across India, England, and the United States have shaped her views on the impact of teaching methods on student potential.

Khosla co-founded the CK-12 Foundation, a nonprofit organization focused on reducing the cost of academic books for the K-12 market. As co-founder and executive director, she has led CK-12 in advancing K-12 STEM education by leveraging artificial intelligence and open multi-modal content. The foundation's AI-powered Student Tutor, Teacher Assistant, and Open Content aim to remove barriers to access and equity by providing technology-driven learning tools free of charge. CK-12 has served hundreds of millions of learners and continues to provide free educational resources to students worldwide.

A key aspect of CK-12's development has been its early adoption of artificial intelligence. The foundation introduced the Flexi AI Tutor, a tool designed to personalize learning experiences. Flexi has been used by millions of students and has processed more than 150 million questions. Khosla emphasizes the potential of AI in education to understand student thinking, identify confusion or misconceptions, and provide targeted support. She has received recognition for her contributions, including the ISTE Impact Award.

Khosla's work extends beyond education technology. She has served on advisory boards for The Nueva School, High Tech High School's Graduate School of Education, Stanford University's School of Education, and IDEO.org. She is a founding member of the K-12 Initiative of the D-School at Stanford University and has served on the Wikimedia Foundation advisory board.

Khosla is also the controlling owner of the Seattle Seahawks, following the family's acquisition of the team. The Seahawks announced her as the controlling owner, marking a significant milestone in professional sports ownership. Throughout her career, Khosla has focused on access, equity, and the stewardship of transformative institutions in both education and sports.
