Nate Burleson

Nate Burleson is a Canadian-American television host, football commentator, and former NFL wide receiver known for his transition from professional athlete to multimedia personality in American media. Burleson played college football for the Nevada Wolf Pack, earning first-team All-American honors. During his college career, he made 138 receptions, the second highest in NCAA history at the time. Burleson was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the third round of the NFL Draft and spent his NFL career as a wide receiver and punt returner with the Minnesota Vikings, Seattle Seahawks, and Detroit Lions. He is the only player in NFL history to have three punt returns of 90 or more yards.

Burleson's playing career was interrupted by an ACL injury, which led to significant time away from the field and challenges with mental health. He has spoken publicly about his experiences with depression during this period, emphasizing the importance of mental health awareness in professional sports.

After retiring from the NFL, Burleson began his television career with NFL Network, serving as a host on "Good Morning Football." He later joined CBS News as a co-host of "CBS Mornings," where he reports on topics including mental health and emotional wellbeing, often interviewing professional athletes about their experiences. Burleson also served as a New York correspondent for the entertainment news program "Extra."

Burleson is an Emmy Award-winning studio analyst for CBS Sports' NFL pre-game, halftime, and post-game show, "The NFL Today," and hosts Nickelodeon's "NFL Slime Time." He is a two-time Sports Emmy Award winner for Outstanding Studio Analyst. Burleson has also hosted "Super Bowl's Greatest Commercials" on CBS and participated in Netflix's live NFL Christmas Day broadcast.

Expanding his presence in television, Burleson hosts the primetime game show "Hollywood Squares" on CBS. The show features Drew Barrymore as the center square and two contestants competing in a celebrity tic-tac-toe format. Burleson's career spans professional sports, morning news, sports analysis, children's programming, and primetime entertainment, establishing him as a versatile figure in sports broadcasting and television hosting.
