NaLyssa Smith is a professional basketball forward in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA), known for her versatile skill-set, rebounding prowess, and steady growth since entering the league. Born in San Antonio, Texas, she played college basketball at Baylor University where she compiled over 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds — becoming one of Baylor’s elite two-way forwards.
Smith was selected second overall in the 2022 WNBA Draft by the Indiana Fever. Her rookie season showed promise: she averaged about 13.5 points and 7.9 rebounds per game, earned All-Rookie honors, and established herself as a strong rebounder among first-year players. In her second season, she increased her scoring and rebounding, setting a franchise record for double-doubles, and ranking among the league’s leaders in rebounds per game.
In early 2025, Smith was traded to the Dallas Wings as part of a multi-team deal. Later that same year, she was traded to the Las Vegas Aces in exchange for a first-round pick in 2027.
