Morgan Stickney

Paralympic swimmer Morgan Stickney is a 4x Paralympic medalist, 4x world record holder, and 6x worlds medalist, She grew up in Bedford, New Hampshire and began swimming competitively at age 10, quickly rising to national-level competition as a distance swimmer before her life took an unexpected turn due to a rare vascular condition that ultimately led to the amputation of both of her lower legs.

Despite immense physical and emotional challenges, Stickney returned to the pool with remarkable determination. She made her Paralympic debut at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games, where she won gold medals in the women’s 400-meter freestyle S8 and the 4×100 medley relay for the United States. At the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris, she continued her elite performance by claiming gold in the 400-meter freestyle S7 — setting a new Paralympic record — and earning silver in the 100-meter freestyle S7. In addition to her Paralympic success, she has captured multiple titles at World Para Swimming Championships and set several world records in her classification.

While pursuing her athletic career, she also earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology and has continued to balance training, competition and personal growth. Known for her grit and positive spirit, Stickney has become a role model for athletes with and without disabilities, demonstrating how perseverance and passion can lead to extraordinary achievement. She loves to speak about her journey in the hopes that her resilience encourages others to keep moving ahead.
