Morgan Pressel

Morgan Pressel is an American professional golfer and broadcaster known for her achievements in women's golf and sports broadcasting. At age 12, Pressel became the youngest player to qualify for the U.S. Women's Open, signaling her early talent in the sport. She was named American Junior Golf Association Player of the Year and received the AJGA Nancy Lopez Award. During her amateur career, Pressel won 10 AJGA titles, including all five AJGA Invitationals, known as the AJGA Slam. She also won the U.S. Women's Amateur Golf Championship with a 9&8 victory over Maru Martinez in the final.

Pressel turned professional at age 17 and became the youngest winner of a modern LPGA major championship by capturing the Kraft Nabisco Championship (now known as the Chevron Championship) at age 18, reaching a career-high fourth in the world rankings. She secured her second LPGA Tour title at the Kapalua LPGA Classic and recorded runner-up finishes at both the Women's PGA Championship and U.S. Women's Open. In team competition, Pressel competed in six consecutive Solheim Cups and later served as assistant captain. She was also named captain of the U.S. PING Junior Solheim Cup team, becoming the first former participant to hold that role.

Transitioning to broadcasting, Pressel has served as an analyst and on-course reporter for LPGA Tour, PGA TOUR, and USGA coverage on Golf Channel and NBC. Her first on-air appearance was at the LPGA Drive On Championship, and she has contributed to coverage at several major championships and the Olympics. Pressel is recognized for her expertise and insight in golf commentary, enhancing the visibility of women's golf.

Off the course, Pressel established the Morgan Pressel Foundation in memory of her mother, Kathryn Krickstein Pressel, who died of breast cancer at age 43. The foundation's initiatives include the Kathryn Krickstein Pressel MammoVan, a mobile mammography unit providing early breast cancer detection and education. The annual Morgan & Friends event has raised significant funds for breast cancer research and services, with more than 20,000 screenings conducted and 69 cases of breast cancer detected early through the foundation's efforts.

Pressel's career encompasses professional golf, sports broadcasting, and philanthropy, making her a prominent figure in the golf industry and a leader in breast cancer awareness and advocacy.
