Molly Tuttle

Molly Tuttle is a trailblazing bluegrass guitarist and vocalist celebrated for both her instrumental mastery and powerful songwriting.

Tuttle has been performing on stage since she was 11 years old. She recorded her first album, The Old Apple Tree with her father Jack Tuttle, at age 13; she has appeared on "A Prairie Home Companion" and at San Francisco’s prestigious Hardly Strictly Bluegrass and RockyGrass festivals; and she’s been featured on the covers of Flatpicking Guitar and Acoustic Guitar magazines. No stranger to awards, Tuttle took first place in the General category of the Chris Austin General Songwriting Competition at Merlefest 2012, and she is a two-time International Bluegrass Music Association Guitar Player of the Year (2017 and 2018), making history as the first woman to secure that honor. In 2018, she was also named Instrumentalist of the Year at the Americana Music Honors & Awards.

Tuttle attended Berklee College of Music in Boston on scholarships for music and composition. She also received the Foundation for Bluegrass Music's first Hazel Dickens Memorial Scholarship. Her debut full-length solo album, When You're Ready, was released in April 2019. She released City of Gold in July 2023, a full-length album showcasing her band Golden Highway that blends traditional bluegrass with expansive roots influences. The album went on to win the Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards in February 2024, marking her second consecutive win after 2023, and also earned her a nomination for Best New Artist.
