Mitch Teemley

Mitch Teemley is an American writer, director, producer, actor, and composer whose creative career spans multiple decades and disciplines. He is known for his work on the feature films "Healing River" and "Notzilla." Teemley's path to filmmaking began in high school, when he performed with his group The Daily Planet on an ABC special hosted by Aretha Franklin, singing a song he co-wrote. Early in his career, Teemley hosted and co-wrote Walt Disney Studios' "50th Anniversary Celebration."

After completing his master's degree in directing, Teemley taught acting in England alongside Patrick Stewart and Ben Kingsley. Upon returning to the United States, he became a member of the comedy groups Isaac Air Freight, Mitch & Allen, and the National Lampoon Players, releasing multiple albums and the video "Mitch & Allen Live." He later contributed to the development of theatre and media arts programs at Azusa Pacific University and taught graduate filmmaking in Los Angeles. Following post-graduate studies at the American Film Institute and UCLA, Teemley moved into filmmaking, developing the story for and producing his first feature, "Out of Time," for Showtime/Columbia Pictures.

Teemley's career includes work as a writer and producer for Warner Brothers, Disney, and Sony Pictures, and he has created a catalog of plays and monologues, earning several writing awards. He has written, directed, and produced numerous films and videos, including "My Declaration" and "No Luggage Required," often serving as editor and composer as well. As president of Moriah Media, Teemley continues to work in the entertainment industry and speaks at conferences, colleges, and festivals throughout North America and the United Kingdom on topics related to entertainment, filmmaking, and personal growth.

Teemley is the writer, director, and producer of the drama "Healing River," which has received multiple awards and is recognized as one of the highest-rated inspirational films on Amazon Prime. The film has been nominated for 14 film festival awards, winning four, including Best Faith-based Feature at the Burbank International Film Festival. Teemley has described "Healing River" as a story driven by themes of forgiveness and redemption. His monster parody "Notzilla" has also won several festival awards and has been noted by MovieWeb as having the potential to become a cult classic. Teemley composed six songs for the score of "Healing River" and four 1960s-style parody songs for "Notzilla," demonstrating his versatility across dramatic and comedic genres. A graphic novel adaptation of "Notzilla" has been released by Antarctic Press.
