Mirra Andreeva

Mirra Andreeva is a Russian professional tennis player recognized for her rapid ascent on the WTA Tour. Andreeva began playing tennis at age six and achieved the world No. 1 junior ranking. She became the only player in ITF World Tennis Tour history to win multiple titles at the W60 level or above before turning 16. To further her tennis development, her family relocated to Europe, and she trained in France at the Elite Tennis Center in Cannes, where she refined her game and tactical skills.

Andreeva made a significant impact on the professional circuit as a junior finalist at the Australian Open at age 15 and reached the third round at the French Open. Under the guidance of coach Conchita Martinez, Andreeva advanced to the semifinals in Paris at 17, becoming the youngest player to reach a Grand Slam semifinal since Martina Hingis. At the Paris Olympics, she partnered with Diana Shnaider to win silver in women's doubles.

Her progress continued with appearances in Grand Slam quarterfinals at Roland-Garros and Wimbledon, and she captured her first WTA 1000 titles in Dubai and Indian Wells. Andreeva defeated defending champion and world No. 2 Iga Swiatek to reach the Indian Wells final, having also beaten Swiatek in Dubai, and overcame world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in the final to secure a major title. She has been ranked as high as world No. 5 in singles by the WTA.

Andreeva's career milestone came at the French Open, where she claimed her first Grand Slam title. She became the first Russian woman to win a Grand Slam since Maria Sharapova and the first teenager to win a major since Coco Gauff. Andreeva is also the first player born after 2005 to reach and win a Grand Slam final, marking a significant moment for the next generation of tennis players. She entered the French Open final with 35 wins that season, the most on the WTA Tour.
